Semi manual radial car tire assembly machine, model VMI 242-SL

The VMI 242-SL is a single stage passenger tire assembly machine machine, able to handle 12” to 20” rim diameter tires, and incorpores many features of the VMI 245-SL including the flat drum single stage building technology. The main difference is the manual belt servicer on the VMI 242-SL requiring manual cutting and application of the belts. With two skilled operators, the productivity of the VMI 245-SL can be closely approached. A typical cycle time on the VMI242-SL, with a regular tire, is 59 seconds. A daily production of 900 to 1100 tires can be realized, depending on the specific circumstances. The modular system ensures configuration of the building system to specific requirements and even allows future complete upgrading to VMI 245-SL level.

Radial car tire assembly machine, limited operator involvement, model VMI 245-SL

The VMI 245-SL is a single stage passenger tire assembly machine machine, able to handle 12” to 20” rim diameter tires, and requires mimimum operator involvement. A typical cycle time on the VMI245-SL, with a regular tire, is 53 seconds. A daily production of 1100 to 1300 tires can be realized, depending on the specific circumstances.

The components, centring, guiding and cutting systems and tooling are based on proven designs, improved through years, and contribute to a high tire quality. The VMI 245-Sl can be equipped with a VMI bladder turn-up carcass building and shaping drum or with the VMI mechanical turn-up carcass building and shaping drum. Both offer a number of special features, including mechanical bead locks and high shoulder support. On the mechanical drum the turn-up length can be adjusted to obtain the best possible performance for all tire designs whilst the mechanical turn-up arms give a consistent building sequence, completely eliminating the consequences of sudden bladder defects.

The modern control system is menu driven with automated machine settings enabling fast, accurate changeover of material width, type and angle making it suitable for small batch runs.

High productivity radial passenger and light truck tire assembly machine, limited operator involvement, model VMI EXXIUM
 

The VMI EXXIUM is based on VMI MAXX Technology® and combines high production efficiency and tire quality with the flexibility to handle a wide range of tire designs. The machine can handle 12” to 24” rimm diameter tires and has the ability to produce hands-off as well as with an operator. The more complex tire designs with additional full rubber components, steel- and/or fabric chafer strips call for operator involvement, which is often also a crucial aspect in the overall quality assurance system. A typical cycle time on the VMI EXXIUM, with a regular tire, is 44 seconds. A daily production of 1300 to 1500 tires can be realized, depending on the specific circumstances.

Utra high productivity radial car and light truck assembly machine, hands-off-eyes-off, model VMI MAXX

The VMI MAXX tire building machine is aiming for a complete ultra high productivity hands-off and eyes-off production, with automatic splice checking systems, a robot for green tire removal and apexed bead unstacking and loading and requiring special VMI bead apexing and stacking equipment.

The VMI MAXX produces tires in various rim sizes from 13 up to 24 inches. It is a two-drum machine for radial passenger car tires that performs to the single stage building process but combines a high level of flexibility with a substantially higher output along with improved green tire quality. A typical cycle time on the VMI MAXX, with a regular tire, is 36 seconds. A daily production of 1500 to 1900 tires can be realized, depending on the specific circumstances.
