Laboratory abrasion tester, LAT 100
The laboratory abrasion and skid tester, LAT 100, can measure the skid, traction, wear resistance and rolling resistance of tread compounds, with a special disk simulating road conditions. A small round sample of the compound is tested against a rotating disk. The speed, the surface of the disk, the slip angle and load can be varied. With an optional temperature controlled disk, the compound can be tested under extreme conditions, like very cold (winter), or very hot (summer), as well wet. The LAT 100 is to be used as a part of the DIN-Standard Norm for abrasion testing.
