Fully automatic bead-apex assembly system for passenger tires
VMI produces complementary executions of fully automatic bead apex assembly systems. The bead-apexing systems are all quickly and easily adjusted to accommodate your specific bead diameters in the range from 14 to 24 inches. The basic system is a single station system which applies the apex to the bead which is located on a former. In continuous production, these systems can apply apexes from 10 mm up to 70 mm in height, with a production of 7000 - 10.000 bead apex assemblies per 24 hours, with minimal operator involvements.
Our bead apex lines utilize VMI-AZ extrusion technology to produce the apex strip in-line. Dependent upon the characteristics of the to be extruded compound, a choice between a Pin-Barrel extruder, a Multicut Transfermix (MCTD) extruder, or a Planetruder® can be made. The extruder is fully integrated into the controls of the line, and includes the patented quick die change head, a significant saving in down time. Direct extrusion combined with automated apex application ensures a consistently high quality of apexed bead which is ideally suited for use in automated tire building systems for the manufacture of high quality tires.
