VMI is preparing the launch of a new tire building machine at Tire Technology Expo 2012, Cologne, February 14, 15 and 16.

Visitors to Tire Technology Expo 2009 witnessed the launch of the VMI MAXX Tire Building machine, where it also won the first Tire Technology International Award for Innovation and Excellence.

Since then the MAXX tire building machine rapidly conquered the global market with its excellent performance, as it exceeded all expectations in terms of productivity and product quality. In fact, the MAXX tire building machine represents more than just a machine: it opens a view on a complete new philosophy with hands-off & eyes-off production, full traceability of tire components and splice measurement results. The optimum MAXX machine application is in production cells, together with VMI’s automatic bead apexing systems, and operated by only a small team of operators, monitoring and feeding the cell. The MAXX TBM design will be further developed and optimized for these ultra high quality and productivity applications.

VMI also recognized the demand for a machine that combines high production efficiency and ‘MAXX tire production quality’ with the flexibility to handle a wide range of tire designs. Specifically more complex tire designs including run-flat tires call for possibilities of operator involvement, crucial in the overall quality assurance system. For this purpose VMI developed a complete new tire building machine. This machine is based on MAXX Technology® and has the ability to produce tires both hands-off as well as with an operator. This new TBM will be launched at the Tire Technology Expo in February 2012, where its name will be unveiled.
