VMI launches VMI EXXIUM®

VMI Group, the Dutch rubber and tire machinery supplier, with production facilities in The Netherlands, China, USA, Brazil and Germany, launches their new VMI EXXIUM® car and light truck tire building machine at the Tire Technology Expo in Cologne Germany, 14-16 February 2012.

The EXXIUM is based on VMI MAXX Technology® and combines high production efficiency and tire quality with the flexibility to handle a wide range of tire designs. The machine can handle 12” to 24” rimm diameter tires and has the ability to produce hands-off as well as with an operator. The more complex tire designs with additional full rubber components, steel- and/or fabric chafer strips call for operator involvement, which is often also a crucial aspect in the overall quality assurance system. A typical cycle time on the EXXIUM, with a regular tire, is 44 seconds.

VMI MAXX Technology is a design approach to completely rethink the actual purpose, simplify where possible; question the conventions which led to previous and current designs and make use of the latest technologies in materials and components. In the last years VMI launched already two other machines based on consistent implementation of this principle; first the VMI MAXX® car tire building machine and later the VMI EdgiQ® breaker cutter-splicer.

The VMI MAXX tire building machine is further improved and distinguishes from the EXXIUM by a complete ultra high productivity hands-off and eyes-off philosophy, featuring robots and requiring special VMI apexed bead stacking equipment.
