VMI launches a new radial OTR tire building system

VMI has launched its first radial VMI OTR (Off-The–Road) Tire Building system. This system utilises flat drum building technology and assembles in one process green tires in sizes from 17.5 R25” till 24.00 R35”, including the application of the tread. This unique method of assembling Radial OTR tires utilises transfer rings and other proven technology of the VMI All Steel Truck TBM.

High capacity & quality

This high capacity radial OTR machine produces high quality radial tires, up to a rate of 2.5 tires per hour for 24.00 R35” tires. Down time for size changes is low because of a minimum amount of tooling and the maximum use of universal computer controls.

Put into operation

Answering the needs of the booming OTR tire market, VMI’s R&D team has been working one and a half year designing and building this first VMI radial OTR machine, which was recently put into operation.
