VMI appoints Harm Voortman as its new CEO

As per July 1st 2010, Mr. H.J. (Harm) Voortman has been appointed as the new President & CEO of the VMI Group. As such he will succeed Mr. J.J. (Coos) Spanjer who held this position since 1992.

Mr. Harm Voortman – employed by VMI since 2004 – joined VMI as Manager of the Projects Department. In 2007 he was appointed as President Sales & Projects, responsible for all commercial activities within the VMI Group. In his new position as the CEO of the VMI Group, he will focus on VMI’s Commercial and R&D activities, while at the same time taking responsibility for all business matters for the VMI branches around the globe (in Europe, Russia, USA, Brazil, China and Malaysia).

Effective July 1st, Mr. Coos Spanjer has been appointed as CEO of the Industrial Manufacturing Division of TKH, which includes the VMI Group. In this way, the knowledge and experience of Coos Spanjer continues to be available for VMI.

The board of TKH, parent company of VMI, stated “we are very pleased that the succession of the CEO position is realized through a strong internal candidate and we are confident that the continuity in management for VMI Group is guaranteed.”

Harm Voortman states that the mission of VMI Group will remain unchanged: “we will continue to focus on customer’s demands and development of excellent products”.

VMI is based in Epe, the Netherlands, and is the world’s leading supplier of equipment to the rubber & tire industry, product handling and can production.
