VMI and Collmann agree on a strategic alliance starting 1st January 2007

VMI and Collmann have agreed to form a strategic alliance aimed at an extensive cooperation in sales, production and service, which alliance will become effective on 1st January 2007. From that date, VMI will take over from Collmann all sales and service activities in the important Chinese market. At the same time, the VMI endurance test machines are going to be built and assembled at Collmann in Lübeck, as these products fit perfectly with Collmann’s Tire Uniformity machines.

VMI is the world market leader in tire building equipment for radial car, truck and OTR tires. The company is headquartered in Epe, the Netherlands, and has subsidiaries in Germany, the USA, Braxil and China and is a member of the machinery division of the Dutch TKH-Group.

Collmann

Collmann, based in Lübeck, Germany, and part of the German Sauer group in Kiel, is the world’s leading supplier of tire test technology. Collmann develops and builds automatic X-ray inspection machines, measuring and uniformity machines, and retreading equipment.

Both companies expect that the market will benefit from their joint efforts by accelerating in product development, improved service and the economy of scale.
