In the past 25 years, EBM Product Handling Systems has become one of the market leaders in high capacity cotton pad machines. These machines convert cotton blanket into stacks of cotton pads, which are then neatly bagged. Choice can be made between a high-capacity machine that makes one type of product, or a machine that can be easy reconfigured for different products. Cotton pads in a variety of shapes and sizes – round, oval, square and rectangular – are produced with these systems.

ACE 300
The ACE 300 is our latest machine concept. 25 years of experience in punching and packaging of cotton pads is integrated in this new machine. The machine is based on State of the Art techniques, solid and rigid mechanics, low maintenance, easy operating and economic performances.

Flex 500
The Flex 500 is a fully automatic machine for high flexible production and packaging of cotton pads.

Flex 700
The Flex 700 is a combination between the High Capacity Installation as the HCI 700 with the advantage of the flexibility of the Flex 500.

HCI 700
The HCI 700 is a fully automatic machine for high capacity production for punching and packaging of cotton pads.

Casepacker
These systems can process different carton types, as RSC, open top cartons, separate cover and other cartons on request.

This picture shows the automatic top and side loading of cotton pads.
We can offer several types of Automatic casepacking with the capacity up to:
- 20 bags per minute
- 45 bags per minute
- 75 bags per minute
Palletizing
Special for the cotton market VMI developed a palletizer which processes all known cartons and pallets for this market. A hands off production situation can be created by a flexible and reliable automatic palletizer.
The first picture shows the palletizing robot handling a pallet. The second picture shows the robot palletizing system on a track.
The cases of up to four different production machines can be supplied to the palletizer

Winding system
VMI supplies equipment for winding the cotton blanket onto rolls.

This picture shows an winding system for winding the cotton blanket onto rolls.
The web is slitted in the needed width and subsequently rolled on the carton coil. The winding system is designed for web speeds up to 30 m/min. The web is automatically attached to the coil and is actively steered to the coil.
Unwinding system
2-fold Unwinder
The 2-fold unwinder is the most simple version of the unwinders. Due to the 2 positions the user has the possibility to place a new roll on the unhindered during the production. The time needed for the roll exchange can be limited to only a few seconds.

3-fold Unwinder
The 3-fold unwinder is the most complete unwinder. The ergonomic design of the 3 positions gives the user a good approach to the loading position. The height is optimal for the operator. The unwinder 3 positions gives also an extra buffer position of the roll. The time needed for the roll exchange can be limited to only a few seconds.

Embossing System
With the embossing unit the web can be provided with all kinds of patterns. Embossing improves the stability of the product and makes it look more attractive.
This picture shows the cotton web embossing system.
This system realized the embossing on the cotton web prior to confection. The embossing unit is placed in line between the punching machine and the unwinding system. A 90º cross-infeed is an option.
Connection table
Between the punch unit and the unwinder, it is possible to place a connection table. This offers the possibility to continue punching during the connection of a new roll to the actual web in production.
This picture shows the connection table prior to the cotton web embossing unit.
With this table the time needed for the roll exchange can be limited to only a few seconds.
