VMI supplies millroom equipment and a complete line of manufacturing and testing systems for both bias and radial tires for car, truck, utility and OTR vehicles complimented by services ranging from engineering and contracting projects through to finance. We also offer maintenance contracts and upgrades on existing tire and rubber equipment.

Environment - Our care

In striving for economic growth VMI has accepted her responsibility to protect the environment and as such has introduced an environmental system in accordance with ISO 14001. Environmental issues have also been included in the strategic business plan and environmental procedures and plans have been structured into the total quality assurance system.

VMI’s environmental controls attempt to quantify the uncertainties, trade offs and risks that are inherently present in all environmental issues. The environmental infrastructure covers all aspects of VMI’s operation including its sewage systems, surface water drainage systems, solid and liquid waste handling, disposal and reduction systems, gas and electricity usage and reduction and finally its program for reducing hazardous substance and toxic wastes.

In order to manage the total environmental infrastructure VMI operates several levels of activities:

• Management of environmental costs and liabilities
• Attainment and maintenance of regulatory compliance
• Minimization of public and worker health risks
• Minimization of waste flows
• Process control
• Re-cycling wherever possible and cost effective

This means that VMI will strive towards the maintenance of all National and International environmental laws, standards and regulations and wherever possible and financially feasible improvement in the local environment. Yearly reduction targets are part of its strategic approach. Systematic audits are also carried out to ensure procedures and practices are efficient and effective.
